steady tone of the sub?
We ran to my stereo in my truck at a party so I was at a high level for a prolonged period. (4-6 hours maybe) The sub started to put a bass tone, even when the disc is stopped. Music will continue to play well, but could hear the steady tone over it. After shutting down for a moment it seems to work well again. Was this a temporary problem? Overheated maybe? Could If this is a sign of something on the edge of failure? I am running a panasonic head unit (CQ-C8803U), Phoenix Gold 1200.1 amp with a PG 1 farad power cap one JL 12 W7-3. I know that there is electrical interference, because I've been running this amp / sub combo for years without problems and installed professionally Rockford Fosgate with # 2 or wiring kit. Cabin is insulated with Dynamat and OEM speakers replaced with 4 of 5 1 / 4 MB Quart speakers Fair Housing operation. (70Wx4) No driving without songs!?
"I know it is not electrical interference, because I've been running this amp / sub combo for years "- Not sure of friends as well, things go wrong when least expected it should. Things to check – try to change the RCA cables, try to run another head unit – Or connect to your iPod or any portable music player other (having a 3.5 mm rca spits – Comes from 1 $) – this will tell if the main unit is damaged or fails. If the problem still persists amplifier can damage the phone and hung up the sub amp friends .. if still problem – damaged sub
